我叫林玉貞（英文名： Monica ）, 來自臺灣.  很高興加入加拿大中華文化藝術總會.

從小就非常喜歡美的事物, 但家境小康的環境下也沒有機會去學畫畫.  研究所畢業後到半導體產業的工作期間, 30年間裡我都專注在工作上.

​

直至2018年退休後, 我不間斷的參加粉彩名師的教導, 也ㄧ直在粉彩學習與創作的道路上.  在繪畫上, 我喜歡各種光影、顏色、冷暖對比的變化, 來呈現ㄧ種寧靜與喜悅的氛圍.

這幾年也參加國際（美國、加拿大、中國、臺灣）的各種國際粉彩公開賽.  非常幸運的,也多次入圍,讓我的畫作能在臺灣和美國加拿大參加展覽。

My name is Lin Yu-chen (林玉貞, Monica). I come from Taiwan. I am delighted to join the Canadian Chinese Culture and Arts Association.

From a young age, I have always loved beautiful things, but due to my family's modest circumstances, I didn't have the opportunity to learn painting. After graduating from graduate school of engineering, I worked in the semiconductor industry for 30 years, focusing entirely on my job.

​

After retiring in 2018, I continuously attended classes taught by renowned pastel masters and have been pursuing my pastel painting skills and creation ever since. In painting, I enjoy using the changes that varying light and shadow, colors, and warm and cool contrasts can make to create an atmosphere of tranquility and joy.

​

In recent years, I have participated in various international pastel competitions in the US, Canada, China, and Taiwan. Very fortunately, I have been shortlisted multiple times, allowing my artwork to be exhibited in Taiwan, the US, and Canada.
